I did it! I bought my dress! A couple months ago I mentioned that I was pretty sure I wanted a Stephanie James dress, but not surprisingly, I changed my mind.

I’m not going to spill the beans, but I bought it during the Melissa Sweet trunk show at Saks. I had seen the dress two other times at the Priscilla of Boston store in midtown but the customer service at Saks was far superior so I felt better buying it there. I think I got the best possible price and the timing is just right.

My plan is to get measured after the new year (as an incentive to not pig out over the holidays.) I decided to do a muslin to ensure a perfect fit. The whole process will take 6-8 months. I can hardly wait!

Second, it would most likely be A-line since that’s the most flattering for my figure. The A-line part was easy enough, but looking for only tea-length was extremely limiting. During a very intense Google session, my friend found Stephanie James an independent designer in southern California. read more »

This past weekend was Gay Pride in NYC. Now what is the *least gay* thing I could do during pride? Go to Kleinfeld with a bunch of straight girls!

I am a big fan of the tv show Say Yes to the Dress, and thanks to my friend Karen, I was finally able to go for the “Kleinfeld Experience.” read more »
