Its only been three weeks since New Hampshire began allowing gay couples to marry, but its already in danger of repeal. My advice to those planning to get married in New Hampshire: hotfoot it down to the courthouse, lest you lose the right to, as they did in California.

Why not send Gov. Lynch a thank you note.
Comment (0)Gov. Lynch of New Hampshire said he planned to sign the Marriage Equality bill. He agreed to sign it pending changes to “protect” religious leaders from providing any type of marital services that are intended to promote marriage, which he believes is only between a man and a woman.
However, the House of Representatives rejected the amended bill with its religious stipulations. Legislators are now trying to re-word the bill in such a way that will appease the Governer, the House and the Senate.

Today Maine became the fifth state to legalize same-sex marriage!
Earlier this week, New Hampshire‘s House and Senate also approved a same-sex marriage bill which is now pending Gov. John Lynch’s approval. However, Lynch has publicly opposed gay marriage in the past saying that civil unions were “good enough.”
Unlike Vermont, if Gov. Lynch were to veto the bill, the House and Senate probably wouldn’t have enough votes to override his decision.
