We’ve been so busy with real live planning, that I haven’t had as much time to post but we’ve made some major decisions! We’ve been working hard researching caterers, day of coordinators, irene’s suit and hotel blocks. Oy vey!
We had a tasting with a caterer that was absolutely delish. She was recommended by Studio 450, and caterers tons of events there. That was super important to us, because having a wedding in a loft is a lot different that doing it in a regular venue that comes with everything. We need to make sure we have someone who knows how to work with… well, nothing.
We now have a much better idea of the overall style of our reception. We’re doing passed hors d’oeuvres and food stations instead of a formal sit down dinner because we have a fabulous space and we want our guests to take advantage of it and not feel parked at a table all night.
Comment (1)Sitting on the highway in traffic, it occurred to me, this is the perfect time to discuss what song we’d like to play for our first dance.
We had a really tough time coming up with serious suggestions, but we had no trouble at all coming up with a list of highly inappropriate songs. See below:
-
Single Ladies – Beyonce
Push It – Salt N Pepa
Let’s Get Physical – Olivia Newton John
My Boyfriend’s Back – The Angels
Fat Bottomed Girls – Queen
I Wanna Sex You Up – Color Me Badd
O.P.P – Naughty By Nature
Sex Dwarf – Soft Cell
Under Pressure – David Bowie & Queen
Stormy Weather – Billie Holiday
Fuck and Run – Liz Phair
Easy – The Commodores
The current issue of New York Weddings features a wedding at Studio 450! Be sure to check out the slideshow.
