For us, the biggest issue is literally *how* will we get married. Same-sex marriage is not legal in New York, although beginning last May, NY will recognize marriages from states where it *is* legal. At the time of our engagement, gay marriage was only legal in California and Massachusetts. However soon after, Prop 8 passed in CA and MA was not an option because at least one of us would have to be a resident. read more »

Irene proposed to me in our living room on March 17, 2008.
We picked out my engagement ring together in the Jewish Diamond District on 47th Street. Its white gold with 1 carat of channel set, princess cut diamonds.
