A couple years ago, my mother told Irene and I that we could have my grandmother’s engagement ring. I was extremely close to my Buba until she passed away when I was 12 years old. The ring is gorgeous, but more importantly holds great sentimental value.
Today I called to inquire about an insurance policy for the ring. I asked the agent under what circumstances it would *not* be covered. She told me the only circumstances that are not covered are “normal wear and tear and nuclear war.”
I thought she was kidding, but she was serious.
Comment (0)There was a note on the Knot message board from a woman who is getting married in two weeks and looking to unload all her bridal magazines. Problem was, she’s all the way uptown and I had no way to get them.
I told Irene, and she hopped on her bicycle and went all the way uptown and picked up about 20lbs of magazines and brought them home for me!
I am now in hog heaven, rolling around in a year’s worth of bridal porn.
Comment (1)Watch Perez Hilton and Dennis Prager duking it out on Larry King last night.
Comment (0)Perez Hilton will be on Larry King Live tonight (9PM ET) debating gay marriage with conservative Dennis Prager. This is obviously in response to the Miss California controversy last Sunday at the Miss USA pageant.
I’m a little nervous about having Perez represent the gay and lesbian community, but hopefully he’ll behave and if nothing else it should be interesting!

One of the sites I’ve been cruising for wedding inspiration featured a lesbian wedding this week!
Comment (0)I got an email from the knot this morning, letting me know that today marks 18 months until our wedding!
There are pros/cons to having a long engagement. Pros are obvious, more time for planning and saving. As for the cons, there are some things that you just can’t do ahead of time. Some venues and vendors wont even let you reserve their services more than 12 months in advance. read more »
