Tomorrow (1pm EST) the California Supreme Court will announce their ruling on Prop 8. Their decision will not only effect the future of gay marriage, it will also determine if the 18,000 same-sex marriages in California last year will be annulled.

Day of Decision has compiled a list of nationwide rallies/celebrations in response to the decision.

Gov. Lynch of New Hampshire said he planned to sign the Marriage Equality bill. He agreed to sign it pending changes to “protect” religious leaders from providing any type of marital services that are intended to promote marriage, which he believes is only between a man and a woman.

However, the House of Representatives rejected the amended bill with its religious stipulations. Legislators are now trying to re-word the bill in such a way that will appease the Governer, the House and the Senate.

I’m thrilled to announce that I am now the moderator for the Gay Weddings board for theknot.com!

There’s not a lot of activity there right now  (compared to the other message boards) but I hope to liven things up. There’s no shortage of things to talk about with all that’s happening with Marriage Equality.

Please swing by and say hello. Tell us about yourself, your partner and most importantly, your wedding plans! See you there!

PS- Our straight friends/allies are also encouraged to participate. Maybe you’re an attendant in a gay wedding or a guest with a question… all are welcome! The more the merrier.

Its no secret that Conservative Bill O’Reilly is not a supporter of marriage equality. But I find it unbearably offensive when he compares marrying someone of the same sex to marrying a goat, duck, turtle or any other animal for that matter.

The New York Assembly passed the Marriage Equality Bill today. Sound familiar? That’s because this happened two years ago, only to be squashed by the Senate.

Hopefully this time will be different. The pressure is certainly on, with 5 states having legalized same-sex marriage in the last 2 months. However, the opposition has also turned up the heat by threatening to disassociate with any Republican Senators who support the bill.

The Senate doesn’t vote for several weeks, so what do we do in the meantime? Glad you asked! Here’s what we can do:

New England is kicking ass this week!

Today Maine became the fifth state to legalize same-sex marriage!

Earlier this week, New Hampshire‘s House and Senate also approved a same-sex marriage bill which is now pending Gov. John Lynch’s approval. However, Lynch has publicly opposed gay marriage in the past saying that civil unions were “good enough.”

Unlike Vermont, if Gov. Lynch were to veto the bill, the House and Senate probably wouldn’t have enough votes to override his decision.
