I did it! I bought my dress! A couple months ago I mentioned that I was pretty sure I wanted a Stephanie James dress, but not surprisingly, I changed my mind.
I’m not going to spill the beans, but I bought it during the Melissa Sweet trunk show at Saks. I had seen the dress two other times at the Priscilla of Boston store in midtown but the customer service at Saks was far superior so I felt better buying it there. I think I got the best possible price and the timing is just right.
My plan is to get measured after the new year (as an incentive to not pig out over the holidays.) I decided to do a muslin to ensure a perfect fit. The whole process will take 6-8 months. I can hardly wait!

I went to a taping of the Martha Stewart Show today! It was a special show and the audience was filled with all brides. The show turned out to be destination weddings and it was co-hosted by Darcy Miller, the Editorial Director for Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. Love her!
I’m not particularly interested in destination weddings, but I did get some great parting gifts! Each audience member got a great lesportsac weekend bag, Sally Hershberger hair products, and a photo printer. YAY free stuff!

Back in October, the New York Times published The High Price of Being a Gay Couple, an interesting piece which estimated the extra financial costs gay couples will have to shell out for things like, healthcare, taxes, starting a family, estate planning, etc.
Today, they introduced What if You’re Gay, a new feature to the Bucks Blog that will address financial issues that affect the LGBT community. Awesome!
