Engagement Photos
Holy crap, we’re gorgeous! I almost died (in a good way) when I saw the photos from our engagement shoot. I’m not very comfortable in front of the camera, and I was afraid that would show in the photos but they came out great.
I had never even heard of engagement photos before we began wedding planning, but its becoming pretty popular and offered in many photographer’s packages. Since our wedding photographer is not based in New York, we worked with Clean Plate Pictures, a Brooklyn photographer who’s done a ton of work with our friends.
We woke up early and started on the Highline, then the Meatpacking District and ended in Chelsea where our pooch, Lily made a guest appearance. It was *freezing* and the 18 outfit changes I picked out were reduced to my winter coat. It took me awhile to get over my nerves. Irene, on the other hand, was like insta-supermodel.
We’re so so glad we did this. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t really see the big deal with engagement photos since we have millions of photos of us together but I have seen the light. Not only do we have these amazing photos, but it also calmed my nerves about the wedding photography. I’m so afraid that I’ll look bad in our wedding photos and this reassured me that it will be fine. I just have to relax and have fun and let the photographers do their job.

ALISON, I LOVE THEM!!! You and Irene look GORGEOUS, you are indeed correct. I got a lil weepy when looking at them. You know your lil cousin Eva is starting to look a wee bit like you (and her father). Perhaps that is why, lol!
